CISO Role Gains Importance
CyberNINES has been a longtime advocate of C-level involvement in cybersecurity, and the business world in general is coming on board with the idea. According to a recent Cybersecurity Dive article, the role of Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) has gained greater responsibility and influence within companies, with 90 percent of cybersecurity chiefs currently reporting to top management, compared to 62 percent just three years ago. Many cybersecurity executives now report directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). This evolution results from the growing awareness of cyber threats and the risks that companies face, and the increased C-level support has also translated into a greater allocation of budget and resources.
